Broadchurch TV series based in Bridport
Broadchurch is an ITV thriller/drama series set in the fictional town of the same name. Shooting for the series was actually in 2 locations West Bay in West Dorset and Clevedon near Bristol. An icon from the series are the stunning cliffs known locally as East Cliff.
Broadchurch is written by Chris Chibnall who lives in the area and Chris has been quoted as assaying that Broadchurch was a love letter to the scenery of the Jurassic Coastâ
Broadies(pet name for Broadchurch fans) can visit a number of sites in and around West Bay where events from the series have taken place. Murder Hut, featured in Series 1 and 2, is located right on the cliff next to the footpath at Eype whilst the Pier at West Bay was used in several scenes. Stonebarrow near Charmouth was used in series 2 whilst the Sea Brigade Hall features in series 1.
