Walking from Binghams Farm

We are very lucky to be located directly on the Brit Valley Footpath that runs from the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast at West Bay through to Chedington, near Beaminster. There is fantastic coastal scenery as well as splendid views of the River Brit to enjoy on this 11 mile walk through Dorset. The walk passes Wynyards Gap, Buckham Down and Beaminster before finishing at Cheddington with stunning views of the West Dorset countryside.

Our access is directly through our friendly farmers field – the town of Bridport is about 45 minute stroll heading towards the coast whereas you can reach the original River Cottage (now a famous food and drink hub –  “River Cottage” ) in about the same time heading inland.  The footpath is clearly marked and follows the River Brit for most of the journey.  You can walk for as long or as short as you like and if you get to either Bridport or Beaminster you can always catch the bus back!

The footpath is well maintained with a few stiles and bridges to traverse.  For those wanting a stop along the way you can either visit the Pymore Inn or The Hare & Hounds pubs for a quick drink or a spot of lunch.
