West Dorset in September

With the orchards all around us brimming with their wares September is a fabulous time of year to visit Binghams Farm.

After the schools start back in early September – Bridport & West Bay are still enjoying a number of activities for visitors to enjoy.

Markets – the regular markets are still full of stalls especially on sunny dry days.  Bridport market is Wednesday and Saturday with Charmouth down the road on a Monday.  To find out about all the markets in the area click here.

Bridport Hat Festival – a highlight in the calendar – a great weekend of events that revolve around Hats with the big gathering in Bucky Too Square on the Saturday 2nd September.

Dorchester County Show is also on the first weekend in September – a fabulous country fair with agricultural animals, fruit and veg displays and plenty of stallholders that you will need a whole day to wander around this lovely show.

If you are into live music and festival then why not try Bestival (7th to 10th September) – located at Lulworth Castle the setting just can’t get any better.

The autumn carnival circuit then starts at Shaftesbury on 30th September – this promises to be a great evening of floats and fun.

Here at Binghams we start to harvest the fruit from our orchards – as guests you are welcome to enjoy the many apples which are cider apples and great for making cakes and pies, damsons and wild blackberries.  Watch out for the new recipe cakes on your arrival.
